Deleted Tweet Viewer

Paste a tweet link and this deleted tweets viewer lists every saved snapshot of that tweet: its text and image where the snapshot has them, and when each copy was captured. It shows what was saved, not whether the tweet is still on X.

Updated
Works with twitter.com, x.com and mobile.twitter.com links that include /status/ and a number.

How to view a deleted tweet from its link

  1. 01

    Copy the tweet’s link

Look in your browser history, a message or email notification, a page that embeds or quotes the tweet, or an old tab. The link has to contain the username and /status/ followed by a number.

  2. 02

Paste it above and choose Check link

The lookup covers the twitter.com, x.com and mobile versions of the link, so it can take up to a minute.

  3. 03

    Read the result

If a snapshot contains the tweet, you see its text, the saved image if there is one, and when that copy was captured. Below it, every snapshot is listed by link version with what it holds.

What you can see, and what you can’t

The viewer can show

  • The tweet’s text, when a snapshot of its page contains it
  • The author’s name and username as they were when the page was saved
  • The date it was posted, from the saved page or the tweet ID
  • Saved images, when the image files were saved too
  • Every snapshot found, with its capture time and whether it is readable

The viewer can’t show

  • Tweets from protected accounts, or any page that was never saved
  • Whether the tweet is still on X. Every result says “Current status unknown”
  • Snapshots that hold only X’s app frame, shown as “Page shell only”
  • A video itself: at most its cover image
  • Replies to the tweet, or live numbers such as likes and views

The same lookup also runs on the View Deleted Tweet With Link page, which explains in detail why one tweet can have several saved versions with different contents.

Viewer or finder: which one do you need?

Use the viewer when you have the tweet’s link. It looks up that one tweet. When you only know the account, use the deleted tweet finder: enter the username and the free preview shows how many of its tweets have saved snapshots. Searching inside those tweets by keyword, date or type comes after you unlock that account’s archive, a one-time $4.99 for the account.

Quick answers

Is the deleted tweet viewer free?

Yes. The viewer is free and needs no account, no sign-in and no X/Twitter login. Only the optional account archive, a separate tool on the Deleted Tweet Finder home page, is paid.

Can I view a deleted tweet without the link?

Not with this viewer, which works from one tweet link at a time. If you only know the username, the account search on the Deleted Tweet Finder home page shows how many of that account’s tweets have saved snapshots. Searching the tweets by keyword is possible only after you unlock an account archive, and only within that account.

Can this deleted tweets viewer show every tweet from an account?

No. It looks up one tweet link at a time and shows only what was saved. For a whole account, the Deleted Tweet Finder preview reports how many unique tweets have saved snapshots, and an unlocked archive lists up to 1,000 of them.

Does the deleted tweet viewer work if the account was suspended or deleted?

It can. The deleted tweet viewer reads saved snapshots rather than X, so a link may still return a snapshot after the tweet or its account is gone, as long as a snapshot of that page was saved while it was public. If none was saved, nothing can be shown, which does not mean the tweet never existed.

Can I view tweets from a protected account?

No. Snapshots come only from pages that were public. A tweet posted while its account was protected was never on a public page, so there is nothing to show; tweets posted before the account became protected may still have snapshots.

Does a result mean the tweet was deleted?

No. A result means a snapshot of that tweet’s page exists. The viewer never checks X/Twitter for a tweet’s current state, so every result is marked “Current status unknown”. To see whether a tweet is still up, open its link on X/Twitter.

How long does a deleted tweet viewer lookup take?

A lookup checks every link version of the tweet, so it can take up to a minute. If it does not finish, try again after a minute.
